Moral Values – In Today’s World

In this ever-changing & fast moving world today where societies are mingling at maddening pace courtesy internet, electronic & print media. In fact to say that the divide has almost disappeared may not be wrong. Sometimes children find it difficult to differentiate good from bad. Good or bad for a child from one society or family may be completely different from good and bad of those from other society or family. Yet your child may be staying away from you may be spending a lot of time with people from other background. While picking good things from others is always a good idea but not everything that others do is always right or even if it is right may not be acceptable for a certain family or culture. It is primarily due to different value systems we are brought up with. And values are something so close to a person that when values are shaken or shattered it plays havoc with the lives of people involved. This often snowballs into acts of mental and physical violence. It is not a good situation either for the family or the child. When it becomes big we start finding logical solution to things like this, however, the real issue is an emotional issue and a logic hardly plays any role in solving emotional issues.

Today, a child staying at home or away is spending less time with his/her parents/family (people who genuinely care about them) than ever before in history. That means children are surrounded by other people who may be good or bad, responsible or careless about them in terms of guiding them. Not that all are bad but the chances that a child is spending more time with irresponsible people is definitely higher as compared to past. Also internet, print media & television are certainly mediums which are feeding our minds with all sorts of ideas which have nothing to do with reality.

THE QUESTION IS HOW TO EDUCATE YOUR CHILD SO THAT THEY DO NOT END UP DOING SOMETHING THAT CAN PUT YOU OR THEM IN DEEP TROUBLE?
In today’s times if you can just educate your child just enough to make sure that they do all to not hurt the feelings of those who love and matter to them. That they realize that it is their primary responsibility to take care of those who love and care for them. This much should be enough to avoid painful situations later. This won’t take a lot of time as well. All you have to do is make sure proper and healthy communication is always happening between you and your child.

Moral Values – What is right and what is wrong is not a question of logic. What is right and what is wrong is a emotional issue and is best handled in an emotional manner.
